As both a clinician and researcher, I believe that research should directly inform the care we provide. My clinical work with immigrants, racial minorities, and trauma survivors constantly pushes me to seek interventions that are not only evidence-based but also culturally responsive. I use research to bridge the gap between theory and lived experience—so that the care I offer is grounded, relevant, and effective.
Through my studies on racial trauma, immigrant mental health, and relational dynamics, I’ve seen how systemic and contextual factors shape outcomes. Whether I’m drawing from qualitative content analysis or advanced machine learning models, my goal is to uncover patterns that help us better serve marginalized communities. This work informs every aspect of how I show up as a therapist—from how I assess clients to the interventions I choose.
To me, research isn’t separate from therapy—it’s what keeps our work honest and evolving. It allows us to challenge assumptions, respond to emerging needs, and design care that truly meets people where they are.
